Well, I am finally getting ready to tackle the 45. Was curious what everyone did to convert their early-67 cruisers to disk brakes. Axle is no problem, but wondering about the booster. I have the Warden adapter for the old firewall, and will be putting in a 78-79 2F w/a Weber. Curious at to whether a mini booster, or one out of a 60/62 will fit ? Thanks.

ummm, I am not so sure you can use the 67 front axle to convert to mini disc, if the axle is a ball and claw style then it wont work, well it will work with a bunch extra work. Best bet is get a 68+(I think) drum axle and convert it or a new disc brake fj40 or 55 axle. The issue with the early alxe is the inner oil seal and something else.

on my fj45 I used the wardens adapter, a booster from a 74 fj40(v6 mini truck was too big I recall, I got it laying around someplace) and V6 mini truck master, works great. You will also have to make new front brake lines to convert the single line to 2 line

Yes( I think) one out of a 60/2 should work, you might have to turn it upside down however. Clearence issue come up with the booster hitting the clutch master. At one time I had took measurements of all the different boosters, the one that would not work for sure is a 78 fj55

here is a pic of my set up, 67 fj45

carb on mine is a 67 1 barrel so it's pretty small. motor is a 77 2f

I want to say you need a booster that is 9" or less in diameter......but not sure

Cool, thanks. Sorry, forgot to mention the old axles are coming out! SOA
will be done at some point, too.
May do 4whl disk down the line but just stopping at all is first priority! :D
