Found what appears to be a 1964 FJ43 for $9500. Rig does not have a title. Looks like it's been painted with a texture paint. Can't tell if seats would be original or not. Any comments or suggestions on this one?

What are your goals that you think owning this vehicle might accomplish?

Clean it up and re-sell it. Or keep it for a little bit, then sell it. (I have an '86 wagon that i like, but my first love was the 40)

Thank you for the honest answer - and nothing wrong with that at all.

However, if profit is your goal, I’d avoid this one.
Way too much going on there to be worth your time to possibly, and not guaranteed, make a few grand.
You’d be better off buying a more desirable model/year in the $25-30k range and only having to do a few easy things to turn it into a $45-50k example.

Thanks, and I would agree with the assessment. The more i look at it, and compare to fully restored rides, there seems to be alot that i can't explain on it.

And thanks for your honesty as well.

This most likely is not a 64. The knob used to hold the windshield upright didn't start until the 68 model. The vent windows on the doors should bug catcher in 64. Most likely from Columbia with that aftermarket hard top. From South America I would inspect it carefully for bondo and repairs to the frame. These vehicles were worked hard with repairs to just keep them going. Now it's popular to do a quick fix and fresh paint and ship to the US.
