I'm looking for some direction on a replica stripe kit for my 40. I've found a ton of custom kits and kits for later model cruisers, but the 40's seem to be lacking. My plan is to remove the original stripes, clean up the paint and get it into good outer condition, then redo the striping with an exact replica. Does anyone have a link, referral, insight on where to find a place to redo my striping?

The "straight" ones like you need are not so difficult to reproduce

Sign-o-Rama is duplicating the 'stripes' on my 40, which is actually a 70's dealer-applied paint option done with a plastic wrap technique popular in the day. Sort of a wood grain appearance. Yours should be easy.

Yeah I looked into it a while back and apparently pin stripes like that are pretty easy for sticker/decal places to reproduce. A Sign o Rama type place would be your best bet.

Toyota apparently never put decals on, they were always a dealer thing. So trying to find the exact same ones as the ones you have would be near on impossible considering they were made 40+ years ago.

Crap. Drive it up here and I could do it for you. I had a wrap business for a while. The only trick is to find the right color for the darker stripes. Unless it's just faded black. Take very accurate measurements of the width, length, and placement of the stripes. And photos before you remove them.

Match color and width, stick em on, cut curves or details w exacto knife. Super easy. Probably cost you $30

Thanks for the input. I'm definitely documenting everything very closely before I remove any of it. I've got a friend in town that can probably custom print the stripes and make them new again. I'm torn on re-doing the straight lines over again or adding a little retro design with the same color combination
