Welcome. Looks like a nice project. Does it still have coveted backup light?
You gotta a smokin deal on that 40. You should carefully remove the backup light and put it in a safety deposit box until you're ready to use it, or sell it to fund your build.
I’m afraid to ask what it goes for. I’m not going to sell it, but with the warning you’ve given, I best remove it and put it somewhere safe.

Yep, put it someplace safe. Folks have been asking 1k for a nice one. I don't think I've seen it sell for that yet. It's a 73 only. There were a lot of changes in 73.

Been around the 40 series long would realize what prices use to be. I've only paid more than $2,500 once. That was for a one owner 70 FJ40 back in 2011. The 73 I post earlier in this thread was a lot cheaper than $2,500.

Some one had one on eBay for $1K a while back but was offering a better for mud members. Not sure if it sold or how much.

I paid $400 for a ‘69 about 8-10 years ago. Had to let it go. It was in better shape than this one. We don’t like to talk about it. I’ll just say I got more than I paid for. My wife was all smiles when I bought it, but balked when it was going to cost money to restore it. We don’t talk about it. This build is going forward.

It’s still available I imagine. I’m still looking for glass for mine.
