I am trying to put my '78 40 back together after three years apart for an engine overhaul.

I am coming across parts from time to time, that I have NFI or remember where they go.

So, without further ado, here's the first one:

Many thanks,

Could be, it's the right size and it is a metal deformable washer.

I have some more pieces in the gasket kit from Mr. T that I will likely post up here soon.

Another question:

I have my manifolds still assembled. I recall there is some sort of heat riser in between them. Should I bother disassembling the manifolds to clean, or am I better off leaving them together?

I will also be asking questions about emissions controls, if anyone has any input as far as what to punt and what to keep, I'm all ears. I intend to remove the EGR and use Jim C's plugs in the head. I would like to lose this, I think it is part of the EGR?:

Exhaust gasket. If you take the other apart heat with torch and spray with water to loosen it up. Usually full of carbon. Valve cover looks nice. MIke
