Hey all. I have a 81 FJ40 that was a frame off in South America. It was fitted with wing windows and the weatherstrip just didn’t fit correctly, problem waiting to happen. So I bought replacement full windows, all weatherstripping including the inner and outer belts 80-84). The weatherstripping I received for the outer was for doors with slots to hold it on. I have pinholes on my doors. When I called CCOT they said I must have earlier doors and to buy the 75-80. Receiving those I see the pins do not come close to where the holes are on my door.
Anyone familiar with determining what year doors I have, or better yet where I can find what will work?

@JoeK9

It seems to me that you have a non-USA market FJ40 ("I have a 81 FJ40 that was a frame off in South America"). If that is the case, it's probably not appropriate to look at USA market parts. In addition, believe it or not, some "frame-offs" may not use identical parts in the restoration.:hmm:

Your best bet would be to post pictures of your doors, and I imagine a number of Mudders will be able to point you in the right direction.

Wow, nice looking rig.

I don't have an answer, since my truck is a 1973 model.

In most cases, someone will see your post and may be able to provide advice.

Good luck!

One more pic, I am holding up the USA Toyota outer belt and showing that the hole locations do not match up.

There are several ways to go: If your stuck with not being able to return/refund the earlier style felt weatherstrips that use the round holes, could you drill holes where you will need them?
or:
Wing/vent windows were used throughout the entire run of FJ40s on a worldwide basis, so you should be able to replace the strips that match your specific doors as they came to you and use the wind wings.
