FJ40 Fuel pump (1 Viewer)

Hi my original OEM mechanical fuel pump finally gave way the other day and received an after market replacement. My concern is that this one came with a restrictor/orifice in the return line. The original one had no restriction. Is this a concern and if so should I remove it? Thanks in advance.

I don't recall seeing anything like that before, looking at the box, I'd probably get a different one, that is made in Japan.

also don't forget the spacer.

On something like a fuel pump I would spend the 130-200 $/€ and buy the OEM, it's not free but it's not that expensive either for your peace of mind of the next 30 years.

Hi all thanks for replies. Yes I should have researched a bit better found Kyosan pumps do not have a restrictor so as advised I will purchase one of these and consider this other purchase as lesson learnt (should have followed the saying.."buy once cry once"!)

If you can't return it, remove restrictor and keep it for "trail part/spare"
