If you have a five speed with a 40 series top cover your looking for a inspection from from a 83 (10/82) 40 series. Most likely a BJ42 since they seem to the model most.likely to have a five speed. High percentage of BJ46 did as well but good luck finding one being parted out. Many of the 10/82+ 40 series had a raised inspection cover and the transfer case lever is a little forward of the five speed. If you have a five speed with a 60 series top cover probably just as easy starting with a late 60 series inspection cover. Either way neither will have the same footprint as your 80 FJ40. I posted pictures of the different inspect covers in a thread not too long ago.

If you are looking for a 5 speed transmission hump cover, I have one from a late BJ42.

I'm looking for the sheet metal cover that bolts to the floor.

Thanks

For the record the later five speed transmission hump inspection plate has a different footprint and will not bolt to your 1980 FJ40. Also if your transmisions top cover is not from a 40 series the holes for the shifter will not line up. Better using a late 60 series inspection cover. Those hole with like up shifter levers from a 60 series.

Been a few threads lately covering the inspection cover and the crossmember to mount the transmission.

All good info, Living in the Past - thanks. I will post an image of this inspection cover in this thread tomorrow. It looks to be the same design as the fibreglass ones offered by city racer on his site. Fairly certain this is from a late BJ42 as it was sourced from a heap of parts relating to a 42.

I see that one of these 5 speed inspection covers sold recently in the classifieds by 447xpro

Landtank, I will respond to your pm.
