$38 is a screaming deal, I think the one in my avatar (didn't buy it) went for over $200. :D

Fall gathering AZ style

Out east it might mean a fun time to play in the mud. Here in the desert it means get off my a$$ and get some firewood. Only other options were not going to the cabin in the winter or use CL. Not ready for either of those yet.

John hunting down the lonely hardwood............ :steer: I'm going to do some of that this weekend, actually had to buy some wood this year. :bang:

You have a excuse for buying. My wife wanted to do the CL route because of my back but I'm stubborn and went out on Saturday while she was down with a migraine. Chainsaw doesn't bother me as much as the axe spliting the wood. This load is split and stacked. I cheat I use a cheap electric wood splitter.:hillbilly:

since the wife has not felt well...we went with the ecobocks for our wood stove...more expensive...but...we can stack them in the basement (where our stove is) without concern about bugs

also saw this in another thread...

.....found some surface rust which i'll take care of this weekend, oh, and found a guy who can duplicate all gaskets having to do with the "corrugated" hardtop...or whatever they call it these days...

Sorry your wife isn't feeling well Johnny. But I'm a little  Your wife isn't feeling well so you buy ecobocks. Your not saying your wife is the one throwing the chainsaw in to the 40 then hook up trailer to hunt the hardwood. Your a lucky man.

Of course with your new addition I'm sure it's hard to get away. With your wife not feeling well makes it even harder. In a few years the new one will be old enough to haul the wood back to the trailer after you cut it.

i'll have 4 rug rats helping me out :)

With all the issues she's very suseptable to catching poision ivy and some other weedy plants also affect her.... trouncing thru the woods is basically a no no right now... and most trees here have viny crap all over them...either i'm very selective to find "the perfect tree" to chop up or...just get the eco stuff :)

i went the easy rout LOL

too much stuff to do these days any how....cleaned out the glovebox in the cruiser today...very happy with myself about that one :)

Johnny take pleasure in the little successes...............I was going to split wood and I'm fixing someone else's heat because it's 80* out.

Riding out the storm here in Albany... Just staked down the trampoline ... Risked my life for a 99$ pice of sh?!!,; lol

My parents and two brothers live on Long Island all lost power 10am today... They are expecting 7-10 days before they get power again... Several trees down close to their homes... One smack middle of a neibors house... Brothers fence is also gone... Ripped out like silly string

Very sad to hear the hms bounty replica ship has sunk due to the storm off the coast of NC .. I was just on the ship this summer when it was in port at Long Island ... Very sad to see history lost ... And two crew members including the capt of the ship

Anymore updates? I see your still posting so must have power. Did they cancel school?

How about some of you others back east how are you doing? I imagine Cruiser_Nerd (Jim) had to park that chevy since he needs a real 4X4 to keep everybody's water flowing from the tap.

we didnt get all that much here... we went home early yesterday... and had full days today

Used this as a teachable moment as we start on small engines with the 7th graders ... the engines of the bounty quit... no power... no pumps .... relating to their lives here and now talking about basement sump pumps and flooding houses ... it was an ahh haa moment for the kids with parents that have homes with sump pumps

LI got a bit of a beating were my parents are... quite a few trees down...most every power line down there is from 'telephone' poles and there are lines down all over the place

I too wounder how Jim and others are doing... there are several mudders in PA... they must have gotten a beating

So Johnny if the storm makes a sharp right turn will you be effected or are you far enough south? If it does turn right it looks like Southeastern Canada is in it's path. Toronto has already had a couple of inches of rain. Dean could be next. You guys stay save.

Me I'll stick to the Southwest where we get these freak storms that pop up and leave just as quick. This last weekend I was cutting firewood wearing a Tee shirt.

Edit: Looks like Jim is okay. He posted in the Yankee Toys section what would be around 3:00 PM back east. https://forum.ih8mud.com/ma-nh-yankee-toys/642881-hurricane-sandy-3.html#post8040034

We got lots of very strong winds over night, but not as bad as Toronto...seems the storm really cut in going north west from Jersey.
Now they are forecasting another, colder system, coming in from the west...

Not too bad for us. Personally just lost power but got it back amazingly quick (last night). Work wise been shagging around to have 16 rental gensets in place and wired before the storm, now keeping them up and running. I was worried about my folk's place because of the coastal flooding but the house was OK.

 Glad everybody is okay.

I talked to the parents today on Long Island

They still have no power... Still 5-10 more days ... So many trees down the fire dept was clearing streets as the town is understandably overwhelmed with the amount of trees down .. A cousin works for the power authority and is working 14-15 hr days as well as my brother who is an officer on the NYPD ... Brother commented on the flooding on the south shore of LI ... It very bad ... At the height of the storm it was up to the second story ... 90% of the residential homes were without power yesterday
