Desert fall colors 2011

Went to the rim again this year. Probably better colors the weekend before but still found some that hadn't turned brown and fallen off.

My daughter and her two kids came up for the weekend. The daughter wanted you drive the 25. While my 88 year old monther came along she rode in the 100 series. She did go along the day before for a ride in the 1970 FJ40 which wa on roads much worse then ones we go on to see the changing leafs.

I know some of you know my wife had health issues a couple of years ago and didn't go rim to see the colors with myself and my mom. It was great to see her clowning around this year. When I told her I took a couple of pictures she hammed it up.

Very cool John...looks like it was a great weekend

I made the decision that morning to remove the soft top and install the bikini top. Not sure when I'll ever put the soft top back on. The soft top is a old Kayline top but not sure who made the bikini top but it is top notch. Driving down the highway at 55 it did not flap at all. I also got with this 25 what I think they call a trail top which is custom made to fit the cruiser with this roll cage set up and uses the same snaps as the soft top.

I can imagine the nose bleed acceleration the driver of that microbus must have experienced getting on the autobahn. :steer:

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Just got back from the old house for turkey feast. First time in many years we haven't hosted the dinner.

First weekend in December will be tree cutting in the same area but this time with about twice as much family. May figure a way to get three cruisers out at one time. The day before those pictures were taken I had 70 out for a small trail ride with six people. Not sure my eighty-eight year old mother will go on another one.

curious I posted those pictures a month ago and this is the first time you seen the them. Just shows how good this group is. The moderator only checks the section once or month or so.:confused::hhmm::meh:
