Hey, wasn't someone here in the 25 section looking for a pintle hook a few months ago? Here's one near me on Craigslist. I'd be willing to help out with pickup/shipping if you can't cut a deal with the seller.

Not sure but I don't think that is a original Land Cruiser pintle hook. Looks like it got it has the hole for the locking cotter pin which the earlier didn't have. It was destin who was looking but I believe his holes are not in the stock location. I have no problem having old Land Cruiser pintle hook or later non-Toyota pintle hooks fitting in the stock holes. I have one cruiser that the back must have been banged up in the past and had a PO weld close and install different hole for some other purpose. Destin's had some kind of a special rack the fit over the soft top when he bought it. Whick leads me to believe that is what happen to his.
 
I have a '82 BJ42LX. 4-speed with power steering (thank god!). I *think* the 4-speed is a H42, but the splines are different than gas engines, so they're not interchangeable. The 5-speed was an option in '82 and standard equipment in '83/'84, IIRC.

I bought a diesel H55F from a Mudder in Montreal last year. It's sitting in my garage waiting for the swap. The driveshafts have to be shortened/lengthened to accommodate the extra length of the box.


So the 82 had the H55F as a option in 82. I know difference between the H41 and H2. Just not sure which one Toyota imported to Canada. Plus I know about the spline count being different. I thought the length was different too. If it wasn't I would think you might find a clutch plate from the B and use it on a F or H engine. If it was that simple I'm sure it would be posted somewhere on mud. Seems to me the B engine bell housing is deeper. Which could be the case with the four cylinder shorter compared to the six cylinders.
 
Well, I'm back from the Yankee Toys Fall Gathering. Both of the FJ25's performed flawlessly. I'm just glad I didnt have to tow a trailer with mine.

My damage report: bent both tail light brackets, bent my new repro license plate bracket and added a few more dents to the steps. Fortunately all minor and easily fixable. Time to change the gear oil in both axles though, lots of water crossings.

Hey John, would you rather have this one instead? :lol:...actually, my wife really likes this half cab (with out the plow)...she would actually take this to work a couple times a week, but I have to paint it a darker green, and clean it out pretty good first, as grease stains would not look good on her office attire...:frown:

Hey Mike...how did you like the way those army tires drove?

I believe this weekend you saw rain, sun, mud, rocks, grass, gravel, sand, water (only missing snow)...etc...would you buy them again, or are you looking forward to getting rid of them?
 
Mike held us up a few times due to his pizza cutters but for there size I was surprised what they did get over
 
I was hindered by their size, not by the tread itself. They are 6.00x16's. I need more height, so I'll be going with a 7.5x16 I think. No complaints about their on-road or off-road manners other than that. I was aired down to 22psi from 30 for the weekend and they actually rode better and the 25 tracked straighter. I am going to try the recommended 27psi and see how that is.
 
That is interesting...I have read so many complaints about them being really slippery when wet...
 
Wow Mike, that shackle really is bent. Wonder where that happened? I pulled my rear axles and wheel cylinders. I have a leaky axle seal and four cylinders that will not adjust without a prybar. Other than this normal maintenance the only evidence of trail damage would be a bit of rubbing by the rear tire against the inside of the wheel well. Perhaps during some large articulation on Craney Pond Road? Come to think of it that may have caused the shackle twist.
