Has anyone installed the steel stock FJ Cruiser wheels on their FJ40? The wheels are 265/70R17's so I know there are height concerns 31.5" on my unlifted 76 FJ. I am wondering about brake clearance, offset, centerbore, etc. Any input would be appreciated.

Your search skills are much better than mine. Thank you. After a couple hours of reading through white vs. gunmetal grey discussions, I gave up (could have been the late hour I was searching at) and added a new post. Sounds like backspacing is the issue I would be facing.

If You Are Going To Change Wheels , There Are So Many Wheels Out There That Will Look Much Better Than FJ Cruiser Wheels . Just My Thoughts . GOOD LUCK.

here my fj 17'' rims grey color..spacers 1.5''
the last photo are 16x7 toyota 4runner spare steelies..same spacers

when your looking for a steel wheel, I don't believe there are many 17x8 options out there.

personally I like the look of the FJcruiser wheels...wish spacers weren't mandatory :p

The steel FJCruiser wheels wouldn't be my first choice. I don't think they look bad but just not what I will be getting eventually. There is a local guy that is selling a set with decent rubber. The PO of my rig removed the steering dampner and it hasn't seen a front end alignment in quite some time. The current wheels are a little scarey to drive on. As I redo the front end I wanted to put some new wheels on it so I could play a little this summer. The cruiser is a long term project that I want to keep driveable throughout and this is just to get it started.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I appreciate all the different preferences and 'borrowing' a little from everyone makes each rig exactly the way we want it.

steering dampner is over rated :D
I would verify all your bushings and bell-crank are good 1st.

then, save yourself some coin, and perform the alignment Yourself.
