FJ Cruiser Roof rack on a GX470

It's downright hideous. Looks like somebody put a bunch of oversized pipes on the roof.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I always wondered if on rack production day the engineers could only find the 2 1/2'' round tube die and were like "well, **** it, lets do this" .

This rack looks really nice (way, way better than the FJ rack IMHO). If SSO had more rack accessories OR if SSO had just made it compatible with frontrunner accessories.....I would have put in an order.

The rails they use allow for easy bolt on of a LOT of accessories.

For those of you who are still wondering if this would work? I don't think the FJ Cruiser rack would work due to the curved shape of the FJ roof but I just saw this over the weekend! It looks like Toyota has made this rack for the 4Runner and this one just might work on the GX.

Toyota offers the FJ rack on the TRD Pro. Scat Adams has the right idea.
Go with a Yakima set up that goes on the stock rails. The even have a new platform system in the 2019 catalog that has detachable sides

with spare tire mounts, high lift jack mounts, and jerry can mounts. Much better than the FJ rack. FYI , it will fit in a standard garage.

What about 150 series roof rail? Would it fit 120 series roof? Want to lower the height a bit but still want ability to attrach a cross bar if needed.
