1972 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. I do not know anything about the mechanical condition of any part on the vehicle. What you see in pictures is all that is included. As far as I can tell, it was a complete running vehicle at one time. For some reason is was partially disassembled and then abandon for several years. For the purpose of showing it's potential, I bolted in core SBC. It does NOT RUN or drive. The engine turns over by hand. The chassis rolls and steers. What I know about this vehicle is by visual observation only.
The frame is relatively solid. It does not have any rot holes but has some heavy scale and needs to be cleaned and treated inside and out. Personally, I would reinforce the frame in a few areas. The frame has been lifted by shackles and brackets but I'm not sure how much. Dual shocks on all 4 corners.
The tub is a fiberglass replica. Manufacture unknown. It is sturdy with no major cracks or damage. It has been lifted with 2-1/2" spacers. It shows signs of doors, seats, windshield and other body parts were attached at one time. None of those parts come with it.
The transmission is a GM TH350 that has been adapted to the stock FJ40 Transfer case. From what I have been able to find out, that adapter kit cost close to $600 plus installation. Front and rear drive shafts are connected and look in good shape. Front axle has WARN locking hubs.
Since it was set up for a Chevy small block, I took a core engine that I had from an 87 Camaro and bolted to trans and frame mounts. It's a Tuned Port 350 cid that has been dressed up and modified internally. I can only see that it has roller rockers and tube Headers. The right side header will not fit without some modifications to trans and collector. Nothing else is known about the engine. What you see is what you get. No starter, alternator and any other accessory. I used only half of a new high quality adapter kit to bolt the engine in. You may want to use the frame mount bracket parts that came with the kit since it's a better design and sturdier.
There is a Saginaw Power Steering box adapted and a pump. The pump is just hung on the block and not properly mounted.
The gas tank is a CON-FERR. I think it was designed as an auxiliary tank but I think it was the only tank used in this vehicle since the stock fuel fill was plugged off. The tank is rotted on one end and the skid plated is rotted in several areas. I think the tank could be repaired and the skid plate easy to fabricate. They are no longer manufactured.
There is NO TITLE. It has the original vin plate attached to the body.
Two sets of wheels and tires. The stock 15 inch steel wheels with tires that are dry rotted but hold air. I am including a set of 20x9 wheels that are multi fit pattern. Two 35x12.5x20 tires are good, two are not very good. I had to grind out part of the center to fit over the front hubs. I only did one to show the fitment. The other needs to be done if you want to use them. There are only 3 center caps but the front won't fit due to the hubs. The rears fit ok.
