Glad to see you are putting in some time on the 40. The V-8 looks good in there ! Do you know how high the engine rpm's will turn (not that you would test redline line on it) :grinpimp:

Thinking of using the stock Tundra fuel pump by cutting out an outer flange of the Tundra tank and bolt it down with a gasket on the RCI tank. Has anyone done this or know of any issues or concerns doing it this way?

Cut out the tank mount and a 3/4" flange, going to wait to cut the RCI tank for some clarification if it should work.

A few of the buggy guys use snow mobile fuel pickups to ward off fuel slosh and starvation. I have seen them use four pickups in all the corners.

But i think what your doing is ideal. is the the depth of the stock fuel tank and fuel cel the same/similar?

Very similar in depths.

Looks good to me bud, I had the same question as Lenny about the depth maybe having to extend the sock to have full access to all the fuel but if close enough to the same should be good :)

Finished up the air intake hoses and moved the fuse box down the fender some to make room for the evap canister. Fabbed up a bracket for the canister to slip into that bolts to the fender, which allows the sensor connection and hose connections to be made easily.

Nice, looks about ready to run :)

Found some gasket material at Napa that is 1/16" thick and designed for fuel pump use. So I cut out a gasket and a hole in the tank, before bolting it down to the tank. The hard section of the fuel pump sits about 1/2" from the tank bottom and the sock section can flex down enough to touch the bottom.

Looking good bud nice work :)

I hope you got all the lumen shavings out of the tank, but if I know you ..you did ;) looking good John!!!

hope you are right about the application use the list of other items makes me think of mechanical fuel pump the ones on the block.
take a pice of the material you cut out an immerse it in a container of fuel c how it does.
if it swells& deforms like I think it will.
go to acadian a rubber & gasket on Simcoe they can fix ya up.

I have a small roll of rubber gasket material from Acadiana Rubber and Gasket John I'd be happy to give you a piece for your needs. I used a manual hole punch and this material to seal a few sending units among other things and it holds up well.

Submersed a couple of pieces in gas for at least three hours without any changes to the material, but if Larry can spare 5"x8" section of the other one I can make a spare.

You got it :)

Battery mounted with a cover plate for the old blower fan use to be. Pulled the main power wires across ready for termination with GM style connectors. Do not suggest the hinge style battery box, I will have to unbolt the whole thing to get it out.
