Not sure we are totally on the same page. Gonna try to attach a drawing of my ideas.

Not that they are any good, and my design is just a lightweight, save your ass kind of thing, not repeated abuse kind of cage.

Something like the 4Plus that bolts into the rear cross member. Dual swing outs, big enough for a 40" TSL SS on one side, carrier for three Jerry cans or a cooler on the other side. Places to mount a Hi Lift, shovel & axe, CB antenna, and a back-up light.

No way are you going to fit a 40" Swamper and a Cooler/Jerry cans on the back of a 40.. They are only about 60" wide, 55" at the back where the radius starts, so you man need to ditch the cooler/jerry cans to make it work.

Most guys running above a 37" are ditching their spare tires and carrying plug kits, or putting the tire in the truck on the floor of the tub.. Thats just too much weight hanging out the back of your truck..

Jim AKA Solid Rock Off road, is now our Official Bumper Expert! He is Very Busy Filling orders, but once things quiet down a bit im sure we will be working on a 40 setup.. id think 37's would be max!

I would think anything built to withstand a highway speed roll would be more than enough for repeated trail abuse.

But I'm not an expert, and I didn't stay at Holiday Inn last night. :grinpimp:

I'm carrying the 36" TSL inside now, it sucks up a lot of space. The replacement tires I get next spring will probably be 38" TSL SS.

I know a lot of guys carry a tube and a plug kit. I have a forest of plugs on my current tires. The way my life goes the first trip I leave home with out a spare I'll find a way to totally shred a sidewall. That's just how things go for me.

I left a message for Jim, haven't heard back yet.

Moconative, If your looking for a basic cage, we will have one very basic cage as part of our product line up. the long jump seats are just too big, most guys wheeling their 40's have bench seats in the back, or took out the jump seats for storage..

Rusty TLC, Jim's a Busy guy right now, Give him time.. once the 40 series cages and tube doors are done we will look into more products..

as far as skid plates go, almost every 40 here on mud has a different drive train, so Skids will be Custom made for our local guys, but it may be hard to find a truck with the same engine placement, ect as you have.. Too many variables!

Would Redline be opposed to bending up some basic hoops if I had measuremnts for my own custom setup. Not gonna happen anytime soon, but maybe I could get with you this summer.

I know how the rear seats can be a pain. Right now I have them in, and I'm running an od MAF, Confer rollbar my dad installed in the 70's. Saved my ass twice now, but it only affords a little protection, and I'm start running a soft top, so I would like the added protection on the rear end. I've just been dreaming of a full cage that would allow me to put my jump seats back against the walls like they were stock. With the confer bar, they had to be set out to make room for the bar.

And truely, I like your cages. Looked through your offerings, nice stuff, especially the wagon cages, good idea for a wagon. We were right behind Ben when he rolled, kind of scary that morning. Surprised me just how much the roof caved over the windshield.

Just send me a PM when your ready!, we can also do a custom cage if you bring down the truck!

Yea i love the way the FJ60 cages came out, I just don't understand why we are not selling near as many as people said they wanted

ditto also on rear tire carrier mounted on rear cross member, with possible jerrycan/cooler mount

How about a family cage in the shape (close enough) of the factory soft top bows? It just makes sense to spend the money one thing instead of two (bows and family cage).

Thats a good idea. I guess that would limit you though on not using a hardtop right?

Yes, you'd be only able to run a full length bikini/bimini or an FST/Paki style top.

We actually have a cage kit in the works for a Oem top, however right now it won't actually hold up the bows! It's design is to provide protection and look like the factory offered it with the Oem top cruisers! We probably won't have it finialized till this winter! Once it is on the shelf, it will be our "Paki" cage kit!

I'd like to see a family cage that boxes in the door frame too. I know that I'm not the only one that hates having the big gap between the full doors and the bikini top. It would be nice to not have to build a door frame out of a scrap hardtop and it would give a nice above-door tie down spot for a custom bikini top that fills the gap that most bikini tops give us.
