Don't really like them myself. But, after a club member got 4 fingers trapped in his hood when the wind closed it on him, I decided I should get one, even if it is just for windy weather. My friend could not get to either cell phone or hood release, but he got lucky. Someone heard him yelling, so opened it up for him. Did not break anything, but he was mighty sore for a long time. Got him right between 2nd and 3rd knuckle on all 4 fingers. John

Why does the idler pulley affect a/c?

My idler pulley bearing was seized, so the belt would get burned up if it was installed. The PO did not have the belt on when I bought The LC because he thought he needed to replace the A/C compressor.

Turns out it was just the tensioner pulley.

Nice color cruiser..what plans to do you have in mind..

Thanks:cheers:

I have lots of stuff planned! Besides Pm, I think I would like to install a 4 inch lift next.

When you do the install, let me know if you need a wrench buddy. Also so that way I can see what it takes and how hard the install is.

What part of Sacramento are you from.

Kool, we are in the same neighborhood.. Thats good that you are able to do it at work, it makes it a lot easier with a lift. If you are looking to buy anything from Napa Auto Parts let me know and I can give you a heads up when they have a friends and family sale.

here's a pix of my cruiser..

I need to get some PM done on the car and then maybe an engine overhaul. It

Have to give a shout out to America's Tire Co! They always have great service by my house. After I bought the LC and was doing closer inspections I saw that all of my valve stems were in really bad shape. Kinda of weird because the date code on the tires are from 2009.

Well I pulled up to the house from work the other day and heard the loud hissing noise no one wants to hear...L/F tire was dying fast. So I dropped it off at America's Tire Co and told them to replace the stems. Came back a few hours later to pick up the old beast and no charge! Just a hand shake and come back when you need tires...

Very nice.:)

Good item to get replaced when the die. But, I still recommend a conventional old fashioned hood rod. OEM for about $20 - 25. That hood is huge and one good heavy wind gust from the rear can send it down even with fairly good hood shocks.

do you happen to have a toyota part number for that hood rod?

53451‑90a00 rod, hood support fj62
90480‑15002 grommet (for hood support rod) fj62
53452‑90351 holder, hood stay fj62

^^ hey thanks alot man. so the one from a fj62 will work on the 80?

edit* just found the thread on it
