The Nitto 295/75-16 fits in the stock spare carrier, for the trail mine rides tied down in the back to prevent damage.

Kevin, thanks for the info. This just reaffirms my choice.

Non-winch ARB Bull Bars are $665.00. Man those things are pricey! Didn't have a clue until a few minutes ago. Anyone want to sell theirs?

Yeah, good luck on finding one used. Just pony up and pay the $$$. I am sure you know by now, but Slee Off Road is one of the best around here. He sells the ARB and his own which is probably better.

Tire wise, I personally prefer BFG at's. Although next time I will probably be getting MT/Rs.
Welcome

Congrats! Really nice rig you got yourself there! As for tires going w/ BFGs would be good. I've had 315s BFG on mines for last few months and like the ride a lot. If I had to change tires and still stay w/ BFG I would probably go w/ 305 just cause of being able to fit it into the stock carrier location. Going w/ 315 you cannot fit it in the stock location so you need to either keep it inside the truck or get a Slee Rear Bumper!

Overall, for the tires BFG A/T has been good for me.

That is a fair price. Brace yourself. It will cost you north of 6 G's to completely outfit an 80 for heavy trail usage.

I would not get a non-winch bar. One day you will want a winch and you will kick yourself for buying the non-winch bar.

Out of curiousity, how much do Winch capable ARB Bull Bars weigh?

Just got my ARB winch bar for my 94 Landcruiser from Faultline in Simi Valley for $660, only thing is that I have to go pick it up. San Diego is not that far, probably save you $150 in shipping if you go pick it up yourself.

Will check out Faultline. Thanks!

Though don't know if will save me much in shipping. It'll almost take the cost of shipping to get up there in gas.

>> However, its a RR site. <<

Ordered a couple of small things from them in June, again in July, again in August, and gave up on them in September. Seems they do a lot of expeditions and don't have time to ship product to customers or answer the phone or answer e-mails or return phone messages. They never charged me for the stuff so I can't say I got screwed but they sure won't get any customer service kudos from me.

My 2c.

I've heard the same. I figured as long as I can go see the product and pick it up its not problem for me.

Actually, made the order and went with http://www.rocky-road.com/.

The price wasn't bad at all. $698.25 for the Winch Bull Bar.

Free ground shipping within the continental U.S, and no CA sales tax!
With shipping insurance, the grand total out of pocket came to $708.25!!!

Will receive it in 4-5 days, and it's going to be shipped directly from ARB (U.S.).

If you need one, get it from this place.

Those guys are pretty good, I got my OME suspension from them.

Ron,

We know the 285/75x16 and the 305/70x16 will fit in the stock spare location. You want to check with someone running the 295's so you don't have any surprises.

The 305's are the same height (~33") as the 285's but they are over 1" wider. The additional width helps in most off-road situations. The narrower tyres are better in snow. Depends on what you plan for the truck.

...... what height are my 275/70/16 Revo's  I was thinking ~ 32"

ARB Bull Bar checked off my list.

Now for the rear bumper. I like the rear bumper/ tire carrier combo that Sleeoffroard offers but need to find an alternative because of price.

On the west coast, the only viable options to the slee rear bumper/tire carrier would be one from Hanna Quality (www.hannaquality.com) and 4x4labs (ww.4x4labs.com). Hanna's closer to you (he's either in or near Pismo Beach); 4x4labs is in Grass Valley (about 35-40 miles from Sacramento).

I have the sleeoffroad rear bumper/tire carrier and am most pleased with it.

I suppose you could go with a kaymar...but they don't seem strong enough for serious off-road (I've seen a couple of them flex on the tougher trails). Not to knock Kaymar -- they just were not designed for Sierra granite :D

I might have missed something here, but...what is your intended use for the 80?

Ken's new bumper is just about the same price as the Kaymar. It looks really nice from what I have seen. His sliders are top notch too. I would get them if I didn't already have some. (unless you want to buy mine).

If you want Kaymar, I know Man-a-Fre in Simi Valley sells them.

But, if I were you, I'd start to think about sliders. The first investment on any 80.

I want my truck to be ready to tackle almost anything.

Ken has been very helpful with sending me pictures and information via e-mail. Right now, I am leaning towards Ken's solution, but cost is a consideration here too. I'm still shopping around and if I can get an outrageously low price on the Kaymar, I would go with it because of versatility.

Here's Ken's creation and it looks beautiful!
