How much higher is the fill plug than the stock position? (parked at an angle or flexed only lasts a short time, then the fluid goes away--if this puts fluid on the seal ALL the time?????--Unless you have redesigned seals to accomodate this, or a breather extension?(this is for a stock truck, in my instance)Concretejungle-
Great question! We put the fill hole higher for a couple of reasons; First it gets it up out of harms way a little bit more, and secondly it is necessary for anyone who has adjusted their axle and rotated the pinion angle after doing a spring over or other lift. The stock height fill plug wouldn't let you get enough fluid in if you've rotated the axle.
Also typically your axle seals don't even notice a little bit extra fluid, unless your breather gets plugged and the pressure pushes some fluid out of the seals. think about when you are on the trail and parked at an angle or flexed out, a lot of your fluid is down one side of the tube or the other, a little extra on the top doesn't make a noticeable difference.
Hope that helps!
Are these still around and available? I would love to put a set on my 70 fj40
