What a thread! I need to set aside some time to read all this.
LOL... 48 pages of my ramblings I would call that NOT good reading. Done lots over the last few years with her and LEARNED a lot. Hopefully I will have her up and running properly tonight so I can come up to the meeting tomorrow.

And no dice... ICS is dead as a doornail. Tried my little improvised rig to see if she would run with doing a psuedo Green Wire Mod and no dice. Then pulled it and tested like the FSM says with supplying a direct 12v from the battery and nothing, not clicks, no movement, nothing.

So time to hit up Cool Cruisers.

Tell me about it. Hoping that CCOT can get their crap together and get it out and to me before the holiday. But at this rate and based on past experiences with them shipping stuff (not slow but not fast) I doubt it will be in my hands before Wednesday.

Just talked to CCOT, already going out today via USPS Priority Mail which should be 2-day. Checked for 2-day Saturday delivery through UPS and it was $55!!! Screw that noise, I want it bad but not that bad.

That sucker is dead. Nice vid.
LOL... that was just for you @Output Shaft! Figured most people don't really know what the ICS is supposed to be doing. At least this is an example of the DEAD one. When I get the new I will do the same thing with it on the harness just to ensure that it has a fused end.

Damn! tough luck buddy!!

almost there tho.. light at the end of the tunnel!

Well just looked at shipping information and should be here tomorrow!!! Of course, the wife and I are going out of town for the night so gonna have to wait until Sunday or Monday to test it out. I will rig up my little contraption and power it so we can all see exactly what the ICS looks like and what it does when it is working!!!

On a different note, I ended up purchasing a new stock-ish antenna to replace my coat hanger, because well..... I busted it when I was attempting to get the hood off by myself. This brought about the thought of hooking up my fog light switch, an old defroster switch, properly with power to the light when the lights turn on.. Which then went down the electrical rabbithole of can I create a "ACC hot" (don't know how else to explain it) terminal block somewhere that will allow me to EASILY tie other items into it. Part of the reason behind this is I am going to install an aftermarket temp gauge and vacuum gauge in the near future and run them under the dash (normal spot in front and to the left of the shifter) which will need power for lights that is keyed of when the light switch turns on.

For this kind of stuff I am an electrical window licker so without being able to see it I have a hard time visualizing. Sure I could figure it out at some point but would like to make it simple and possibly without any relays if at all possible.

Well just got the part and looks like I am going to have to do some modification. Connectors are slightly different styles. Stock is female blade receptical that is stock horizontal on top of one another... the one that came from CCOT has them perpendicular to one another...

Well ended up that not only was my ICS dead but the ground was bad as well from the Emision Contoller. I ended up being able to salvage the stock connector from the stock ICS and just did not route the ground which was then grounded to the carb body.

She purrs quite nicely now and will have to do a little bit of tuning but for the mot part she runs great and quiet. Will readjust everything in 100 miles.
Question I have is, is there a lube I should use for the carb linkage. It sticks a little bit after being cleaned. Was thinking of like a spray white lithium or maybe a high temp bearing grease at least in the ball joints on the linkage. Thoughts?

So one thing that I have noticed already is the gas pedal feel.... it is VERY light now. For instance, when I used to pump in the morning before her first cold start I would almost NEVER hit the limiting screw on the floor, now I can with ease. Sure this probably has a lot to do with the rebuild and replacement of a lot of different parts like the accelerator pump.

I do have a fairly loud tick coming from the front of the manifold when she is cold. That front 14mm bolt is a bitch to get to so wondering if it just isn't tight enough. When I pull everything off in 100 miles to tighten the head bolts again, I will see if I can't get in there better to snug those all down.

She needs a full baseline for idle and everything. We got her idling pretty good last night but I feel like she might be missing a bit as the idle seems a little rough. And it is not just when she is cold either. Also need to adjust the fast idle, pulled the choke this morning and it did nothing which was weird because it was before the ICS was working. Again, little tuning things here and there.

Luckily because of the holiday I have Friday off so as long as the weather holds out I will get after her a bit and tune her. She has all new plugs so that isn't an issue, and yes they were gapped properly.

Next major thing will be fixing the rusted out exhaust (which was the plan prior to the rebuild). Funny thing is that after driving the 4Runner for six weeks I realize how painfully slow she is. But it is all good, still love her none-the-less!!! So happy to have her back!

The light gas pedal may be due to an incorrectly attached linkage spring on the carb. The pedal should definitely have firm recoil pressure on it. I bet once you find that, the sticky low idle may go away. It's not a requirement to lube the linkages. When a carb comes back all rebuilt from
JimC, everything is dry.
I do put a dab of grease in the accelerator linkage ball joints. But nothing on the carb links. No sure if that's the best thing to do, but I like my links lubed.

Ok when I get a chance today I will take a pic of the accelerator linkage to ensure that it is all together correctly. And as far as lubing the linkage, the accelerator linkage was what I was referring too.

Well s***... of course it seems the one damn hose I didn't replace is freaking leaking now.
Large hose out of the passenger side of the waterpump seems to be leaking on the hard line side (not waterpump side). But problem is that it is a bitch to find out what the size of the hose is. Only looks to be like 6" long if that and maybe 1 3/4" at the waterpump and 1 1/2" on the hose side.

Gotta try and run to Napa at lunch to see if they can help me identify and then replace tonight. Fxxx teaches me not to replace anything.
