Feeler for Sub bracket Group-Buy

I am recently new to the 80 platform and excited about new parts and designs, so prepare for lots of new gear.

While writing my build thread I had mentioned that my girl had bought some sound gear and a 10" sub. I am NOT for boxes, so set out for a solution. I stated my idea and was asked to build it as a 10" didn't exist, so here it is.

This is for a head count on a small run of these.

-Speaker bracket that holds a 10" subwoofer shallow mount Free-Air
-9.25" opening, I search and search and this was the largest I had found, you must very.
-Will ship with foam block to isolate speaker from harmonics by isolating speaker and body panel.
-14ga galvanized steel for corrosion resistance and strength.
-Direct bolt in like OEM

The only change I may make is to drop a tab down 4" to attach a fuse block as we are looking for a place that is out of the way.

Will be under $100 ($80 if enough want it) shipped to your door, $16.00 is flat rate shipping USPS Priority

I recently purchased an 80 and began our build thread and will be offering some great parts for them.

-I see a need for a split platform in the rear. Using existing mounting locations for attachment. Why split? Many use fridges, dog kennels, pelican cases or want 1 3rd row seat intact.

-Speaker brackets where the 3rd row seat belts are bolted in the pillars, will hold a 4" speaker

-3rd row seat striker plates (remove your strikers and hardware) 4 total for the rear floor.

-Reverse camera/Light mount (for us that don't want to cut holes in the body of have bumpers in the way and hate exposed wiring)

-Replacement grille that will hold a 14" light bar THREAD STARTED

-Front winch plate

Any need for the above? if so, I will post up and see what I can do.

See my build thread for photo's.

Thanks,

Shane

Damn I wish this was available a couple weeks ago. I bought a 12" infinity sub (nothing reproduces the low end of rock music like a 12" woofer) and put it in an entirely too big box taking up too much room in the back. Sounds freaking fantastic though. :)

Is this only for the toyo 80 series?? I have an LX and there is no way I could fit a 10" in the oem sub housing....

I have mine disconnected, but I believe it is 4."

I tried every way to get a 12" to fit without having another leg, just wouldn't work so 10" it is.

...also when u say "free air" are you referring to a ported sub?

Free-Air meaning the sub does not need a box to perform. It's designed to be mounted anyplace with a box or enclosure.

I have the WholeHog one now that has been installed but the selection for 8" subs has been lackluster. I do like the added space for the amp though. What I really want is a new cargo sheet metal that hugs close to the quarter but gives the entire cargo width worth of mounting to add everything from an inverter to amp to sub to fusepanel to circuit breakers to whatever.

The only change I may make is to drop a tab down 4" to attach a fuse block as we are looking for a place that is out of the way.

If you are going basic then this would be good. Just large enough to add the BlueSea 5029 Fuse Block.

When you say platform, are you saying rear drawers...without the drawers?

Speaker brackets where the 3rd row seat belts are bolted in the pillars, will hold a 4" speaker

I think you are missing a huge opportunity here to use these locations as mounts for everything BUT another speaker. Everything from extinguisher to first aid to flashlight to whatever. Untapped market.

Reverse camera/Light mount (for us that don't want to cut holes in the body of have bumpers in the way and hate exposed wiring)

Very curious to see what you have in mind.

I would be down with a speaker bracket for sure.

What about a larger bracket that allows mounting an inverter, amp, air pump, etc. above the wheel well?

Interested in a good backup camera

Working on it now.

Adding it into the design and adding a 4th attachment location to prevent vibrations.

Without drawers, just a platform. Each is a mirror of the other, mount one or both.

I don't want to have the panels drilled or cut, I am working on a bracket that will attach to the pillar and offer a mounting face above the plastic, if I can get them to play along together.

It's an either one at this point. The 10" sub takes up some space. I will do a mounting plate that huge the body and allow for endless mounting solutions, other than a speaker.

Holy Crap!

After several PM's and posts wanting a place to mount their Blue Sea fuse black and other bits, I thought this out a little. I added two more mounting locations at the bottom for a total of 5. this should end all vibrations and make for a solid platform.

Second choice is, I will remove the speaker and make a mounting face that is 3" in at the top and 4" at the bottom for roughly 15" tall mounting face. with the same 5 mounting holes to make a sold platform.

-We now have

-Speaker and with mounting platform
-mounting platform for all your electrical gear (no speaker and not shown)

Now extend it all the way to the left side of the cargo area and you have a winner!
:flipoff2:

Jesus...... Do you mean remove the cargo box from the panel so that the door has access?
