Jesus...... Do you mean remove the cargo box from the panel so that the door has access?

I prefer Joey :flipoff2;

And yes. That little cargo box is absolutely useless and most people use the space to just mount fuse panels and 12v sockets. That pocket is easy to remove but still allow the door to be useful. This opens up massive opportunities to actually use that area for storage instead of the stupid pocket taking up all the space.

I see your point.

With that said, 'Joey" Whoa! I will start on that next week, it will be an add on and NOT one piece as it would cost to much to form and ship due to size. So yes, I will go out and starting playing in the back again, to please you....... ;o)

I'm in!! By the way, keep in mind that there is additional space above the horizontal metal strip just under the sliding windows. A good 4-5" if memory serves. I was playing with something earlier but my SketchUp skills are lackluster at best.

Yes, I may utilize a little of that space if I need flex and movement for fitment, but not much.

I am also worried getting over $200 will limit people. That's a lot of metal and forming work. But agreed, you are right and i need to use that space for this truck. In fact I can get an amp in there better and more air movement. maybe a deflector on the top edge to keep water away as the windows are above......

In for a subwoofer mount. Thanks Shane.

I must add an aside.

This is a very cool idea and I like it. I suggest that as a prerequisite the vehicle be checked for water leaks around the quarter glass, belt molding and pressure release vent. The last thing you want is to get that fancy speaker wet.

Water leaks in this area are not at all unusual.

Working on that today in fact.

There's two pairs of slots in the rubber track, under them is a drain. Between them is a plastic snap I can't get to and it leaks.

Thoughts?

I'm going to clean the top and then seal the drains is my thoughts as sealing the inside most never works.

If memory serves the "snap" is actually one of the belt molding clips. In the Original Greek form the clips have a foam gasket that is supposed to seal them from the outside when the molding is installed. After a couple decades that seal fails and water gets in. Perhaps butyl tape or similar?

I think you wilt find about 4 ot 5 of those "snaps" when you look up inside.

I "thought" it was for the window, I was wrong.

Can you order me all new ones for both sides please.

See the blue tape in the one picture protecting the trim while I was wet sanding? It rained hard last night and the water built up behind the tape and found the weakest point.

The clips are not serviced, you replace the molding.

I tried every way to get a 12" to fit without having another leg, just wouldn't work so 10" it is.

Oh don't sweat it, that 10 will be leaps and bounds better than the stock sub and sound great just the way it is. Like I said I would have bought it a couple weeks ago.

My sub box is only 1.8 cu ft but it takes up 22"x15" of floor space. Having just put drawers in the back that box takes up almost half of what's left over.

AATLAS1X- not sure exactly where your sub goes. Will this work on an LX?

It would mount inside the quarter panel. You would have to modify the trim panel.

I assume it will, I'm planning on mount the sub under the drivers seat or in the extension area behind the door, thinking under the seat is the best place and accessible.

I removed the box and liking forward to this.

So, another thread when I get the two halves done?

Offer

1-Speaker with small panel under speaker
2-additional mount for accessories

Or
1-Speaker with small panel under speaker
2-additional mount for accessories
3-accessory mount with sub delete

Also, what bolts into these two locations?
