so like a smoked glass spray?

I wouldn't smoke them.

Not sure if there's transparent yellow glass paint or there, but A plastic lens or an adhesive backed yellow vinyl (like 3m) should work.

Tommy, www.Lamin-X.com is one vendor you could check out for this sort of thing. It's what they specialize in. Of course, eBay or other vendors will have alternative products.

I don't think you did this yet... Can we see a pic of the TrekPod Mono XT (flood)? I'm thinking of adding and wanna be sure what I need. Thanks!!

Here you go:

I Promised pictures a week ago but ended up with a water problem in the house. I've been a little delayed.

To review I purchased:

  • 7.5 inch light bar
  • 8 degree pod
  • 40 degree pod

This is how it they look against my low beams. I chose low beams as it would show the difference. In all photo's my low beams were on in addition to a single Trek light.

low beams (camera's automatic focus had trouble with the low light conditions) (no focus problems when the lights were turned on)

Narrow Pod

Wide Pod (camera didn't capture the spread very well but the image was brighter still)

Output is very good especially when combined with my regular lights.

I like the convenience of these pre cut sheets.

I think I'll be getting some for myself.

Thanks for posting this!

thanx, ill look into this more when i get the lights, seems pretty pricy for just wanting a small piece, also I'll have to make sure the product is transparent, and heat resistant

ha, they got exactly what I'm looking for, thanx for the link

Invoices just went out to everyone that sent me their email addresses :)

Thank you For the repost! How far out do you think those floods go? I need a wide spread up close, but I need it to shoot out I'd say at least 20' too. Thanks!

I agree. From the pics so far the floods look better than the spots in every one. I'm sure that the spots are better at a distance.

I dont know how well this applies to these lights but.. .

I had a pair of VERY bright custom headlights that were very well focused, nearly spot on the high beams.

Close objects were so bright they were nearly blinding.

I recommend a "spot" light, the bleed off to the sides will work very well for close objects and the focused beam will reach far away objects with enough brightness to blend in with close objects.

Demonstrated here.

Into the sky. Notice how there's enough spread to shine a bright light onto the trees, while throwing a killer spot beam into the sky:

This is assuming you will be occasionally using these for driving as well. For low speed 4x4 I imagine the flood will work just fine, you may have trouble adjusting your eyes to dark locations where your light doesnt cover after looking at objects upclose and that bright.

Ok... I'm gonna change up my order a bit, so here's what it should look like.

(1) 22" TrekLight ES Spot (Hardened Glass)
(9) TrekPod Mono XT (Hardened Glass) - 7 Flood / 2 Spot w/8 deg Flood

Ok that's it, I'm cutting myself off!
