I don’t think inflation would account for a rusty 45 that I bought 30 years ago for $100 now being $15,000. I get our dollar being worth less than toilet paper… but what some people want for their garbage is often crazy these days.

Well it can be hard to grasp but that’s a prime example of exactly why it has lost buying power. New goods like groceries increased drastically in price in the last few years from an inflationary period.

But bought and paid for goods costing more like used automobiles or everything on Facebook marketplace and as you say:
“but what some people want for their garbage is often crazy these days.”
Is showing that not only have we lost ground to that recent inflation yes, but also our dollar face value has been declining rapidly for years as well.

Bring back the gold standard.

this paint is demo'd on a 45 so it has some toyota content, but I'd sure like to know WTF this stuff is made of.
figured @stevebradford could repaint his 60.

The thing I hate about those undercoating paints is once the rust finds a way it runs under there twice as fast. I imagine dealing with rust poking threw from a pinch weld touching up that coating would be nightmare. Mine I can deal with a rust bubble and touch up a section witch I do have to do regularly unfortunately probably because I do winter salt drive it.

speaking of I’m in search for a rusty tail gate hatch for a 60 to run or repair while I repair the rusty pinch welds on mine this fall or winter.

For sale again. For the 3rd time??
This is my buddy Marcus that's selling it. If any one here wants it. I'm sure he'll let it go for 3 grand. Starts amazingly well. Edic works and all. Good oil pressure.

There was a time I’d have jumped on that. Unfortunately now, with two bad knees, I don’t drive it enough for a diesel swap to make sense. I’d need recoup the cost of a diesel swap… especially since a 3B will eventually need $$$ to keep it running.
