Hello all

I am overthinking it, but work is slow....

I need some split washers to replace flat washers on my 3rd. they are M8 I think. Also I may buy some others bolts, etc in various sizes for spares. When you look on Amazon there are many washers and bolts to chose from, all really with unknown quality, so I was wondering...

304 or Carbon Steel plated? (CS has more spring in split)
Where do you source fasteners, and is there a good known quality supplier/manufacturer?

I can get all from Ace Hardware easily, or Amazon, like usual since it is not an aircraft! But if I can easily find a good known quality source I may do that instead

Belmetric for sure.

They have a huge selection, good products, reasonable pricing and they ship fast.

Yes, can try FASTENAL. What bolt sizes do you carry as spares?

I was thinking m8, 10, 12 & 14. All around 25MM long. 6 off each

Typically SS sucks for lock washers as do most of the made in China stuff, or even cheap North American manufactured stuff.

SS is for boat and motorcycles, and only when it is cosmetic.

In my personal experience you can’t beat any OEM fastener.

True. If available, a junkyard would be my first choice to pull hardware from. Pick N Pull yards are getting rare though.

Get the McMaster-Carr app on your phone and have stuff next day in a pinch, if you setup an account. Endless selection too.

Fastenal is alright too if you have a good one close. They can be rough to deal with, depends on who works there.

Find a junk yard and take hardware from any mid 90's toyota 4wd like a Tacoma, 4 runner, tundra, or sequoia.
