Hello All,
I have been enjoying your excellent site. I am in the process of buying two BJ40s here in Ireland. One has fairly good body, not alot of rust but very poor underneath. The other has desperate body but good underneath. Have not yet committed. Maybe too rusty.
The person who is selling has another crashed LC that has a factory winch. Is it straight-forward to install the factory winch on one of the LCs I am thinking about buying? From first look, the connections around the winch itself look alright. My concern is at the transfer case. Is there a plate that can be removed and the factory winch bolted on? Or is it more complicated? Any info is greatly appreciated.
I know that I would have to cut a hole in the floor to get to the winch lever. Anything else to look out for? Apologies if this has been already addressed. Had a quick gander at the search but I did not see an answer to my question.
This may be a dirty other question, but how much rust is too much? Or am I opening up a can of worms?
Many thanks,
Michael
