My wife and I bought a 17 gx460 last week and we found out that Lexus is offering factory bumper to bumper (terrible word usage I know but that is what they call it even though it does not cover the bumpers). We bought our car un certified but Lexus rolled out this plan the day we purchased our car which was may 27th 2020. We purchased a 30k mile or 3 year extension to our factory warranty for around $2,300. What that means is that we now have a better warranty for longer than if the car was certified. Certified warranty adds 2 years of powertrain coverage and a year of basic maintenance for free. The warranty we purchased will be an additional year of coverage for less than what it would cost for a certified vehicle but with a better warranty. The dealer said Lexus IS rolling this out right now to help with slow sales. We did a comparison between this non certified Gx460 and another certified one at a dealer 5 miles away. Both had similar miles but the vehicle we purchased with the factory extension warranty was $3k cheaper and a nicer package. I just wanted to share this information for anyone looking to buy a gx460. Now is the time! I have spent 10 years in the auto industry. I have been a mechanic, advisor, and reconditioning manager. I can honestly say that there are great deals happening at desperate dealers right now. Good luck!

Can you please post a link or add additional info. My Lexus dealer knows nothing about this. In fact they told us we could extend the factory warranty any time before it expired. Now they are telling us that is had to be extended when we purchased the vehicle. So we are not too happy with them at this point.

The warranty applies to used cars sold by a Lexus dealer. I don't have any links. If you are not buying a car new to you it would not be an option.

I'm not sure if I would classify the CPO warranty and maintenance as "Certified warranty adds 2 years of powertrain coverage and a year of basic maintenance for free."
While the warranty isn't as comprehensive as the new vehicle warranty it covers more then the powertrain and the maintenance is for the first 4 visits.

if I remember correctly, CPO it is unlimited miles. So for folks Who rack up the mile, the CPO warranty has some advantages.
