Heya Marshall,

Curious if there is a 'trollhole F carb install' for dummies out there?

i got a carb a while back from you for my F and the old fuel lines run to the side vs front of the carb.(see pics). I used to have what i thought was vaporlock going on so i wrapped the fuel line which ran along the valve cover from the fuel pump. In the interim ive also changed the fuel pump which i think was the culprit of my cutting out problem.

Would i be better off rerouting the fuel line so it enters your carbs stock plumbing? or is it possible to move that to the other(sealed bung) on your carb that i have?

also curious if i can use this throttle and choke cable or will need to order the SOR ones you highlighted.?

I've got the same issue

Same issue here. '69 FJ40. Also, the throttle "axle" hits the recirc fitting from the crankcase.

Old and new:

Might be fixable with a 90 degree fitting:

You will need to bend your fuel line to route it to the front of the carb. You will need to cut the shaft on the carb so the hose will fit. Just take your time bending the line. Leave about a half inch on the shaft.

Cutting the shaft went well- very easy. Carb is in, throttle, choke and vacuum connected.

Bending the pipe didn't go as well :-). I've done brake lines before and even have a bender wrench, but it turned into a disaster.

Looks like I need to hack together something else... need help!

Trollhole: Your inlet (female, not the adapter) on the carb appears to be M12-1.25, yes? So I could go from that to a barb or -6 AN.

Now, I'll need to get from the existing hardline or pump to -6 or barb. Does anyone know of a source for hardline -> barb adapter, like a compression fitting to barb (or intermediate?) or is there any way on earth to get from the odd size pump outlet to -6 or barb? Seems to be the toughest part, ugh.

I don't have a tool to roll a bead in the hardline to make it hose-friendly.

Thanks!
