no need to re-torque the head unless it was recently removed and re-installed
 
After a few heat cycles you should be more less done with head bolts unless you move them.

You can set the valve lash while it running. I set mine on the loose end of the spec's better to hear them than burn them.
 
It can't hurt to put a wrench on them every now and then just to make sure they're good.
 
Good info y'all! I tried to run 'em with it idling but I have MS so I'm wobbly when standing still on concrete so trying to keep the screwdriver in the slot was IMPOSSIBLE! I just ran 'em all the way down using a starter button. Sounds like an F.r when idling so shouldn't be too awful shabby.
