I was out yesterday in my CJ - 35s, lockers, etc. It did okay. 3" of snow on 1" of ice is not its forte. Then I got a call to help a buddy's wife - stranded. You probably know what's going on here in Atlanta.

So, I parked the highly modified, locked, winch-equiped, lifed CJ... and set out in the 100 - 'cause I wanted to make it.

I knew it'd be good (first time in this truck in really bad snow/ice). It has been amazing. Today, I took a doctor to a hospital, made a grocery run for a few families in my neighborhood. Then, pulled a stranded police officer up a hill. I couldn't be happier with the 100 right now.

I'm running 275/70/18 BFG ATs. Had them aired down to 22psi. The ATRAC seem to help.

ATRAC, VSC is your friend on the ice! It will serve you better than a CJ or even a pre-ATRAC Hundy. Great to hear you've been able to help out people in your neighborhood.

Go easy though, ice will slide even the best vehicles into a ditch!

That picture is pure greatness!

True about the ice. when the last storm rolled through DFW, there were chunks that locked up bridges. Not safe for just about any vehicle..

Keep that picture for the next time you're pulled over by the police :). Nice work!

definitely a good message about the 4wd community to put out there - thanks!

awesome pic.

Make sure to ease off the gas though when moving from ICE to pavement... When you find purchase on pavement, move with caution until your wheels are all on solid ground..

That is a front diff killer in the 100.

The ice and snow where predicted, its just southern people don't know what to do or how to drive in something that happens every few years. Also we have hills and curves which do not get salted or touched . Plus the volume of people trying to get out created traffic jams where people were stuck for 5 hours as the weather closed in .... and then they couldn't even get out due to people just leaving cars and trucks on the road blocking all passages which blocked salt trucks from salting. Stay away from Atl when there is going to be snow or ice, most people just stay home and it is over in less then two days.

I let my wife take the Hundy into work and her normal drive home (35 mins) took 5 hours but the Hundy got her home.

Glad to see it's no different in Atlanta than it is in Northern Virginia. Saw this and thought you all may appreciate.

I was wondering about you guys up there today. Glad to hear the good report Mark. Tell Dave and Jed hi and when is the next wheeling trip?

Happy with mine as well. Ran out this morning on a 'rescue mission' across the north side (Johns Creek through Roswell and up/over to Canton...and back). Complete non-issue. I expect the brand new 285/65/18 Terra Grapplers didn't hurt.

Crazy here in ATL for sure. We had co-workers drive 14 hours to go 23 miles. And several got stranded overnight (including the guy I got today). Another buddy was out making runs in his Raptor until almost 4am picking up a number of people who otherwise wouldn't have gotten home.

My first post here btw...lurked for years and gotten a lot of great advice and info. Have a 2004 LX with 120k (pampered). Slowly shifting it away from being the wife's DD. Tires were first. Step sliders and a rack next. Have a PFran led kit sitting on my desk waiting for a slightly warmer garage. Gonna wait out the AHC for now. So far so good (knock on wood). Had the ACC guys look it over a couple weeks ago and will likely let them do whatever work I don't feel up to. Good guys.

Owned our LX since new. I drove it for first few years. Since then the wife has had it. I love it more every day. We've had a lot of good cars and I always say this will go down as the best vehicle we will have ever owned.
