Hey everyone,

This has been really bothering me. I noticed that the roof area gets extremely hot, even when the AC is running. You can feel the heat radiating down, and the cabin doesn’t seem to cool down quick enough because of it.

Never had this issue in my 200 series.

It feels like the insulation in the roof might not be adequate, or maybe there’s some design issue with heat absorption. Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, how did you deal with it?

I have ceramic tint on all my windows, including the windshield. I got my sunroof tinted yesterday (thinking it would help) but seems the same. Just annoying

Do you have an IR temp. gun?

Haven't noticed that here in temps well over 100 with high solar load.

I will say though that climate concierge is too gentle and I have to keep my temp set point 1-2deg lower than I did in the 200. I experienced this in my GX as well.

If I touch the sunroof shade and around the sunroof it is very very warm.

Could you do a touch test the next time you’re parked outside in the sun? If you’re not getting heat like mine, I wonder how Lexus would even deal with this….

Haven't had this problem at all. I keep the air cool inside, and use concierge preferentially, set around 65. I live in Mississippi and have had 90's-100's for the last two months, not an issue.

Suspect you may have either 1) unique climate circumstances (lots of direct sun), or 2) possibly a sunroof seal problem.

I was thinking about this, if it continues to bother you, have your tint shop put some ceramic tint on the sunroof and that should reduce the issue.

I had that done a couple of days ago. Still bothers me. So annoying.

Just drove two hours in 86°F heat.

I did notice that there is some heat radiating from the A pillar region along the handle area (left of my head along the top of the window) that was exacerbated by the air conditioning blowing below that level.

Might just need to lower your temps, adjust your vents, and make sure the rear air is blowing and keeping the whole cabin cool.

One other suggestion. In the 200 you can turn off the AC in the back. I imagine it is the same with the 700OT, so make sure the rear AC is not off.

Just found some areas where the heat could be coming through from…

The roof speakers seem like a little heat is coming through but when I pull the sun shade down, wow tons of heat especially from the light area.

Very frustrating
