guys i've seen and driven this truck it's got 4.88 gears, and does not have fast acceleration by any means.

Stock aisin, dizzy, and all ignition components...

It has NO TOP end. Will not rev past 2300 rpms. And no he's not dumb, the issue is not with the dam switch on the back of the tach for different cylinder settings.

It just starts to backfire and pop when it hits 2300.

I took the dizzy cap off and cleaned the pickup and starwheel. Engine runs very smooth at idle and lower rpms. Almost feels too lean. I'll have him pull the plugs and see what they look like.

I also have a feeling the secondary on the carb is not opening, like i said feels lean .

No one called him dumb......He said he didnt know what switch I was talking about and wanted me to explain......Glad you're on the job now and can take care of it.....badass.....

thanks guys for the help< i will take pics of the carb tomorrow in the daylight, now that you mention it, it does sound like the secondary isnt opening, put when we put the carb back together i thought it was but ill look. also how can i find out what dizzy i have is it written on the dizzy?

hey guys, in my trying to get my truck running right i switched out coils, but i think i might have gotten the + and the - wires mixed up that go to the thing that sits on top of the coil, does anyone have a picture of this so i can set it back up right. thanks

any pics? i have done some searches and i have found that the yellow wire under the wire cover goes to the - terminal is this correct? is that the blake wire you are talking about

hey guys, does anyone have a good picture of the linkage for the carb. i have a feeling it might be my secondary? thanks

A picture of the throttle linkage won't help w/ the vacuum operated secondary.

If the secondary won't open, it's usually a cracked rubber diaphragm, or a leak between vac can and carb body.

Do check to be sure that when the throttle pedal is floored, the carb is opening all the way.
