So where is it? I am trying to flush my coolant and forgot to check the engine core plug. Where is it?

The block drain plug is on the driver's side, closer to the driver's seat than the radiator. I sticks straight out to the side and has two hex places that you can put a wrench on. Probably hidden by your EGR and exhaust stuff. Grope around you'll find it.

If you hold the larger, inner hex and turn the smaller, outer one, the hole in the pipe will start pouring out coolant.

........maybe. Many times it is blocked with crud and requires a little coaxing with a screwdriver....even then, maybe not. But Toad is very correct as to location.

Isn't that the truth! I once "opened" an FJ40 radiator draincock and got nothing. So I dug up in there with a screwdriver. I had the WHOLE SHAFT in there, and still nothing came out except gooey rust mud. Fortunately, I was draining the rad to remove the engine for a rebuild, and the radiator was replaced. But that kind of crud is not uncommon.

I did see that thread when I was searching. However, that engine is disconnected and way too shiny new for me to tell.
Mine is greasy, dirty. With that picture, it is outside of the engine bay, I have no context. A picture with the egine in relation to the manifolds, placement of the firewall, carb, etc, I would have a better
idea of where it is.

I'll just go home tonight with a 14mm wrench and look for it by the driver side.

well if you strike oil you are too high
