I've got a set of parts fische (sp) for the FJ60

this is interesting info on the truth of 89 and/or 90 fj62's. i actually owned one of the few 1990 produced in January 1990 fj62. does this crankshaft change improve the overall strength of this model of 62's? and does this change and the limited number produced with this setup make this cruiser a more wanted, and/or higher reselling or owner value of this setup? just wander why this change was made, if it improves design and if it increases the value and rareity of the cruiser? any feedback and help would be appreciated. Ben

Mine is a 12/89. We've discussed this on the 3FE list. Mine is the second newest one there - the newer one is also 12/89, just a few numbers from my VIN - we figure mine was in the Araco parking lot while his was being assembled.

billybob, you're the first 1/90 I've heard of. do you mind sharing the last 5 digits of your VIN?

Mine is ..21564

This is the first I've heard of an actual 1990 build date in the US. And I've done a lot of looking. Same for Mark Whatley, never seen one.

Who has the truck now?

The EPC vehicle code is 8708-9001 which suggests that the Jan 90s do exist.

Finally found some papers with my vin, old insurance cards. Last part of vin starting with tenth place: L1121556 As stated earlier, L means 1990, and in the table of vin #/ production dates link listed in a previous reply, there is no 1121556 listed on the chart, because it stops at Dec. 1989, with 1120... My vin is 1121.... meaning after Dec. 1989, there for, Jan. 1990. So this mean anything? anyone have a clue. I have the original window sticker around somewhere and the sales book. Awesome pics and descriptions. Let me know what you think. Ben

slightly off topic, but does anyone know if the power steering pulley from a 62 would match up to a 3fE in an 80?

I think it does. I have both right now and the pumps are different, but I think the pulley's were the same. Let me go double check.

I found a 1/90 FJ62 in a junkyard a week or so ago. It was sitting next to a 6/90 FJ80. I will take a camera next time I get up there and take a picture of the door tag.

Wasn't thinking of this post until I saw it linked from the blown motor in the FJ80
