I'm having a heck of a time getting my LC100 ready for an emissions inspection. I've seen a few threads on this in the past and have dealt with this issue before when my battery was disconnected a few years ago, but this time it's been more challenging. The initial inspection came back with "not ready" and I knew I had to drive the cruiser for a week or two. Three weeks and about 220 miles later (highway for 100 miles and the rest city stop and go), the OBD2 dongle and software I use shows the following codes:
  • EGR Monitor = Not Available
  • Heated Catalyst Monitor = Not Available
  • Heated Catalyst Monitor 2 = Complete
  • Catalyst Monitor 2 = Incomplete
Any guidance or advice on how to get this ready is appreciated. It was definitely an easy day of driving to get this done the last time it happened.

No real idea, but I'd first check fuses when multiple sensors don't work...

Each monitor requires a different drive cycle, meaning it has to be driven or run a certain way to get the monitors to clear. You could drive for a week and it will never clear until you do the drive cycle.

This is the one that is keeping the emissions center from completing the inspection.

I dug around and found drive cycle guidance. Will try each of those listed to see if that works.

You're in Utah, law allows for one item to be in not ready status for testing. At least it did.
Here in Cali the Evap monitor is the one you can get away with, Evap could take a while to clear unless you meet the parameters.

Had a similar issue with mine here in ATL after a battery replacement. Follow the FSM drive cycle guidelines EXACTLY to get it to clear out. Took me a couple try's but ultimately was successful.

Here is the drive pattern up to 2002:
