Electrical Question for the Shed

Dan i do not know how far you are from rob but lambcrusher did some work for him.

i would try to get an electrician that had nothing to do with the install to look at it, i would look into friends that might be electricians first if you have none i would see about getting LC down there to look at it, look no mater how you look at it one 6' ground rod for (i am guessing here) 400amp service is not good. and a question, you might have posted pics of your shop, but is it a steel or metal structure.

I have 2 ground rods at the 400 amp main service panel. The 200 amp service panel in the shed is 380ft away and has one ground rod.

It is an all metal building.

Lambcrusher lives near me. On a global scale we are neighbors. I have asked him to stop by when he is in the area.

I will pull the panel cover and get some pics.

Lambcrusher helped me out on the wire size based on the length of run on a different project but same shed.

I wired everything in and found my exterior outlets seem to be missing a ground wire.

Dan, is there a metal conduit that feeds your outside plugs? If the conduit is metal from your sub panel to the outside plug box, then the conduit itself can be utilized for a ground. Just tag your field ground to a ground screw in the back of the box. I have been really busy right now, but if you want, I can try to make some time to get down there and get my mitts on it...

Dan,

Nice stadium lighting. :-)

X2, but might want to loose the Werner for a Genie lift..With your line of work, I'm suprised you didn't choose lodgepole and boot spikes..;)

I found the antique STEEL light poles while mowing the property for the first time right after we bought the property. My Buckingham climbing spikes would not stand a chance. LOL

I came home tonight and found someone trying them out.

I have tried a few different things to eliminate the same thing. The only way I have found is keeping the chargers on a separate circuit. I use nothing but 18v dewalt. I have 2 dewalt radios and if I have a charger plugged in with one of them I get the static on it. I normally just use one of the radios to charge batterys.
