under $500 for the top $500 to ship...under $1000 for a really nice Reproduction top...not a bad deal.

a best top is like $650 plus shipping which I bet is close $100-200 so really..
$1400 is not that bad of a deal for an OEM style top and OEM style bows...

For my vinyl top, I just used an awl to punch the hole. Workie pretty good.

I just used an awl. It worked perfect.....
you can heat a nail and melt the inside of the hole. I personally dont think it will fry, but melting it could be insurance your looking for.OK, but what will keep the hole from fraying or getting bigger?
I have been looking for some small grommets, like you would use on a belt ot something, but have not found anything locally yet. I thought that would be the most bullet proof way to make the holes. But with the vinyl and the nylon strap inside, they probably won't go anywhere.
