welllllll after $20 of gas and 3 hours total i have my top and doors!!! it is crazy to think they came from halfway around the world. The doors are in great shape.. only one small dent on the bottom that I can easily take out

- the only confusion/troubles i have at the moment are.... the soft uppers don't fit very well (one has a peg that won't go in the door at all) so i'll have to do some tweaking there.. I assume the upper door frames are supposed to sit flush??

also how do i paint the upper door frame the color of my truck.... the canvas is sewn on to it...

lastly alex is a great guy and has quite the crap load of parts in his house/garage - and the bows are huge but he thinks he found a box that will be acceptable for shipping.

sweet. g'night.

oh! and thanks Ehsan!

EDIT: wanted to see how the amby top secured to the bows since the amby doors seal where the flap would normally be on and A and B type top - I was worried/not looking forward to having to punch grommets onto the top and run rope like the OEM design..... BUT Ehsan has made some high quality velcro strips that will secure the top onto the bows in the back! I'm psyced! also... i found a little present in my top... he gave me the soft uppers for the amby doors!! i have a pair of new ones that were floating around the US so now i have some extra pieces made up if anything was to happen to them...
Good to hear you are satisfied with the quality. The soft uppers will need some tweaking to fit into the lower hard doors. Just hammer the pegs so they are in line with the holes they are supposed to go into. Now push from the above alternatively on each side. Using a wooden block with some cloth under it and hammering on it from above lightly will make the top go down. Just do it alternatively on each side (front and back) of the frame. Do post pics. Email me at ehsankiani@yahoo.com com if you need more guidance.
Thanks
Ehsan

PS.. Yes.. The doors are hand made. It took us 10 days to make each set --- You guys would know.. :)

this may be a dumb question, but what is the easiest was to install the grommets and twists?? Is there a tool to use or what.....i just dont want to F it up..

though i'm sure the tool is the BEST way to install the grommets.. i've never used it.. it can be done simply with a sharp exacto knife and some patience.. i put all mine in a year ago and they've held up perfectly..

i made 4 TINY slices with the tip of the exacto where the prongs puncture the canvas.. stuck the piece in.. put on the backing piece and folded the little tabs down as tight as i could with my fingers (this is the part i was wishing i had the tool.. :hillbilly:).. then cut out the fabric in the center hole.. then did it 11 more times.

i'm not 100% positive but if you haven't recieved an e-mail saying something was missing than your stuff is at Alex's..

Some of us still haven't heard if our stuff is even here yet...

Since only four items were missing, (a top, a tailgate, the extra khaki canvas and an over the door bow piece for me), I elected to notify those people, instead of telling everyone else their stuff WAS here. Silly me.
