Hey Alex, if you have the ballpark shipping amount for me, I'd be willing to send you the money ahead of time, rounded up a bit of course to help you out and be sure it will cover shipping. I know you will be fronting alot here. I still owe you for twist locks and now grommets too correct.

So is everything there, don't you have it all sorted out already, you have had a whole two evenings :)

Hmmm... I thought they would come with the straps. I was under the impression they were intact. I'll send Ehsan an email and ask about it, but I can probably get them made somewhere.

I got a pair of jerry can holders and what looked like unused straps with a bunch of parts that came with my 40 years ago - owner mentioned something about them being special, but I assumed they were just ex military junk. What would OEM jerry can straps look like - have never heard of such a thing??? I can take pics of what I found - looks like 80's surf rack clamps with canvas khaki green straps - might work either way? Lemme know if interested as I just came across them yesterday while cleaning out the garage.

Stoked to see this order pulling thru!

:frown:also gotta note that i'm not thrilled with the fittment of the bikini top.. doesn't fit right over the top bow corners.. i'll post some pics of what i mean when i get my camera back.. did anyone else get a bikini in this order??

i will be emailing Ehsan to discuss my issues.

welllllll after $20 of gas and 3 hours total i have my top and doors!!! it is crazy to think they came from halfway around the world. The doors are in great shape.. only one small dent on the bottom that I can easily take out

- the only confusion/troubles i have at the moment are.... the soft uppers don't fit very well (one has a peg that won't go in the door at all) so i'll have to do some tweaking there.. I assume the upper door frames are supposed to sit flush??

also how do i paint the upper door frame the color of my truck.... the canvas is sewn on to it... :doh:

lastly alex is a great guy and has quite the crap load of parts in his house/garage - and the bows are huge but he thinks he found a box that will be acceptable for shipping.

EDIT: wanted to see how the amby top secured to the bows since the amby doors seal where the flap would normally be on and A and B type top - I was worried/not looking forward to having to punch grommets onto the top and run rope like the OEM design..... BUT Ehsan has made some high quality velcro strips that will secure the top onto the bows in the back! I'm psyced! also... i found a little present in my top... he gave me the soft uppers for the amby doors!! i have a pair of new ones that were floating around the US so now i have some extra pieces made up if anything was to happen to them... :cheers:

It's funny to me, all of you east coasters talking about being around boston, or able to drive there in a couple of hours from other major cities. I've never been back east, but round here it is a major trip to get to a large city, or even to get to another state. Guess I just don't like to drive long distances.

it takes me 2.5 hours from my house to the middle of Boston...barring any major accidents along the way.

The North East is fairly easy to get around from City to City...

What time? I am going to pick up the boxes in the afternoon. I work in Boston and could probably meet you during the day. Otherwise, I will be home at about 5:30PM.
