So far, only six people have emailed me with what they want. We need to get moving on this because Ehsan is not going to hold his inventory for much longer waiting for us to get our act together.

Also, when you email me, tell me your MUD name and if you want bows, I need to know if they are early (74 and older) or late (75 and newer) style bows. Thanks.

Does anyone think that new style bimini is going to be loud flapping in the wind? Or is it going to be attached/ wrapped around the corner posts in the rear? I love the design especially the slight taper of it and that it covers the posts but would like to know how Ehsan plans on doing this.

I don't see what the purpose of the extra material in back is. That's basically what the full top looks like with the back and side windows rolled up.

Roberto, I dont know if you were talking about the one I modified but was PMing Ehsan about connection at bottom with footman loops or something like that. The twist lock may be better to keep from flapping. I think it would be as MDH33 said, like driving with the soft top windows rolled up. Any other thoughts? Would like input on possible problems.

Thanks, that is exactly the look I want on my FJ. I live on the coast of NC and have a hard top. It is just not that practical here, too warm most of the time. I like the soft tops, but again would keep the windows rolled up 99% of the time. Ehasn's bimini is ok, just not the look I wanted. I was hoping that the bimini would be easier to remove (than the full soft top) when I wanted to go topless also :D.
If the modified bimini doesnt work out, I will go with the soft top and roll up the windows.

Can we get an update on prices?

Top w/ bows = $650 plus shipping

Top w/out bows = ?

Bimini = ?

Also I don't need the 2 rear windows if it is going to hold up the order at all.

Latest pricing based on the order below not including shipping. They went up because we originally had more than 15 potential soft top buyers, only six have materialized:frown:

bikini tops if we order at least 5 of them
US$150 each

bimini tops if we order at least 5 of them
US$200 each

5 or more tops with the added rear quarter windows
US$350 for the top and US$350 for the bows.

It looks like he reaised the prices on bikinis and biminis since the last group buy. He also mentioned that the volume discount used to be $100 ($50 of tops and $50 of off bows), but due to rising fuel and raw material costs it is now only $50 total.

As of right now, this the list of who has emailed me with their order:
1. reedo311- - top, khaki, canvas, rear quarter windows, extra material for doors, possibly bimini top
2. corbinwelter- top/late bows, khaki, canvas, rear quarter windows
3. Phrogg4evr- top/late bows off-white vinyl rear quarter windows, canvas khaki trail top
4. TLC4X- top/early bows, khaki canvas
5. rhart- 1980 HJ45 troopy w/amby doors- top/bows, khaki canvas, rear quarter windows, metal half doors with khaki soft uppers
6. MDH33- Black vinyl bimini
7. Mark Anderson- OD green bikini top, extra door material
8. Pyro-boy- khaki canvas bimini top
9. SouthBostonFJ-OD green top/early bows

Not including what people has listed as “possible depending on price”, here is what we have:
6 tops (4 khaki, one OD green, one off-white vinyl)
5 bow sets (2 late bows, 2 early bows, 1 late HJ45 troopy)
1 khaki trail top
2 bimini tops(1 black vinyl , 1 khaki canvas)
1 OD green bikini top
1 set metal half doors w/ khaki uppers

Can we please band together here and get some more soft top buyers?

Also, the inventory is no longer on hold.

SouthBostonFJ, emailed you under gcrad_99. Had a question or two for you, reply here too if you want. I may be in, but I don't want to drag it out, or hold up the order, would like a top by spring, or I would be out, and will go it alone possibly.

I drive around most of the time with the windows rolled up and I honestly haven't felt the need to completely remove the top in summer (although it's really not that difficult). With the doors off and windows rolled, it's perfect.

I mainly want a bimini for the running trails with trees and scrub that will punch holes or tear my top. The bimini will keep the sun off me and can take some abuse that I don't want to subject my top and windows to.

I have the first Ehsan bimini and it does indeed flap in the wind. I have added straps to the sides and back and now it works much better. I'll post a pic later to show you what I did.

OK. Here is the Ehsan bimini modified. I had four 1" nylon straps sewn onto the outside of the top. Two come down in the back and are easy to see, the other two are just in line with the middle bows and come down into the cab just at the door pillar. Now I can run 60 and the top does not flap.
