I wouldnt think they'd have been fire retardant.......water resistant at best.....Any smell would have been from the water resistant treatment if any......probably paraffin or maybe oilcloth....

Oilcloth = Flax by product = low odor
Paraffin = petroleum based = high odor

You can actually make your own oilcloth by placing raw canvas/duck in linseed oil a few times until its saturated......let it dry (as much as linseed oil will).....

How'd the samples look?

Got the sample from beachwoodcanvas. Its okaaayyy... a little thicker than the orig but id rather use thicker than thinner (fire retardant treated). Got one more sample on the way (non fire). once it gets here Ill post pics and take a vote.

Looks like ill be making the buckles by hand. cant seem to find these things ANYWHERE...

Cant say much has been done recently. just been too busy. I have however, found a good material for the rolls and have to make custom buckles. Cant find a match for them ANYWHERE. I have found a source for the strap but havent ordered samples yet.

Hi Any chance of buying a few metres (yards) of this canvas. Or where I could purchase some.Cheers Fred.

I was thinking the same thing...would love to have a roll...even if it has new tools in it...better than nothing...

...but until I find/buy one, a reproduction of one would be fine by me
