I just changed all the fluids on my wife's 2000 LX. I did not flush the transmission. I just drained the pan and refilled. The owner's manual says capacity to "drain and fill" is 2.1 quarts. A bunch more than that came out. The fluid was full before I drained it. Now, after adding 3 quarts, it is still only halfway between the "cool" and "hot" marks on the stick.
I assume, like every other automatic I own, that I should check the fluid level with the engine running and in neutral, but neither the owners manual or the dip stick says this. Is that how you check it on the 4.7?
Maybe it was just way overfilled before I drained it. Thanks in advance for all of you help.
