95% sure i have a semi floating rear axle...how do i confirm it?

1980 BJ40, B engine was original with 4 speed....4:10 gears

Hi All:

An easy visual determination is that the full-floating rear axle assembly will have a "hub" sticking out through the wheel center, not unlike what the front axle has. The Land Cruiser semi-floating rear axle does not have this extruding "hub."

Regards,

Alan

thanks for the prompt reply...much appreciated

Full float will have axles that remove from the outside and protrude about 4 inches.there is no removable cover on the rear of the diff.Bad pic but you might be able to see the rear Axel stick out from the rim and no bolts on the rear of the banjo housing
