I think it was just the cheapest way to do it. It meant they could use a door already in the parts bin

That I can understand.
I know on their trucks sold in America ( Tacoma & Tundra ) the rear doors are basically full size and tapered little if any.

It's got the front PTO porch but no PTO! And those rear arches look sooo factory

the front PTO space houses and extra coolant tank that is tied into the cooling system ... it helps the engine to stay cooler when the RPMs are up to run the pump.
