I was looking under the hood of my 2010 4Runner Trail tonight and noticed that there is another battery tray opposite the existing battery (makes it almost too easy). I just have to figure out how to relocate the components that are mounted onto a portion of it.

Thinking about this setup: EQUIPT Expedition Outfitters - Intelligent Split Charging Kit

I like the dual battery monitoring system it comes with as it has "...over-charge and excessive-discharge detection, visual and audible alarm, alarm silence, SLEEP mode and timer override facility."

In addition to the National Luna System, I'm guessing all that is needed is a metal hold-down and a nice deep cycle.

Pics to come.

Anyone do this mod on a 5th gen yet?

I purchased this kit from Paul at Equipt and installed it in my UZJ100. I loved it and it was very easy to install. See install Here You will have no heartache over purchasing this kit!

Thanks for the info Zane. Looks like it is the way to go. The last dual battery setup I did was custom and although fun, it was very time-consuming and cost a heckuva lot more than the National Luna System.

Here's a pic of the empty tray. I'm just wondering where to relocate the power steering fluid reservoir and what appears to be the A/C recharge plumbing. Thoughts?

Hello there
I am facing the same situation .... where to relocate the power steering fluid reservoir?

Any advice or recommendations?

Thanks
