Yeah I thought of that afterward, you could somehow avoid disconnecting the lines. But, honestly I would be uncomfortable distorting them that much, I'd be afraid of something getting pinched or lost. The worst would be to have a bolt or something tumble down into one of the intake runners while you're moving the thing around.

The gasket is generally very pliable and reusable.

i ended up draining a gallon +. annoying job with those harness clips in the back of the manifold. sure enough nest under the manifold and chewed harness.

Tesa 51026 is what the German manufacturers use on their harnesses and it is amazing stuff. Black fabric, not vinyl, very heat resistant. Even super 33+ leaves behind a black adhesive residue when subjected to the heat under our hoods. The tesa stuff doesn’t do this at all.

Yes. Tesa is my go to and I have rolls of it in the garage

On my race bikes, I’ve always stripped them down and redid all the frame harnesss to remove lots of unnecessary fluff.

I’ve probably used 100 of yards of Tesa over the years. Love it

Looks like I joined the club.

I experienced the check engine light with the flashing 4lo light on the instrument cluster, and got the P032D code with my scan tool. After replacing the mice-chewed harness, the check engine light and flashing 4lo are gone, but the P032D code is still coming up on the scan tool. Outside of disconnecting the battery, my repair process mirrors what is in this thread.

Do you all have any ideas on troubleshooting this before diving back into the engine bay? At least I'll be quicker this time

Thanks in advance.

I may be wrong, but I think that is a persistent code that has to be cleared to get it to go away. If you clear the codes, does it come back?

Yes, when cleared & ignition cycled, the code remains

THANK you @KLF . Your posts, photos and detailed instruction with contributions from other members on this post helped me get past the same issue. my 2009 LC was sitting on driveway for 9 months and on changing battery all the usual lights lit up on the panel. Dealer quoted 7 hours plus extras plus a estimate of harness costing 1800/- by itself was shocking . Printed this chain of article and went back to the manager who came to senses but have a feeling he will move on to next person they can scam. Local christian brothers quoted 1000 and Mike Tate in Sugar land 77479 500/-. was ready to pull the trigger. Luckily could connect to local south Houston Toyota master tech who moonlights and we got together and got the parts along with Tesso tape and his cost 250.00. The car is running perfectly so thank you to all contributors. If anybody needs independent Toyota tech in Houston can introduce to him. A side note. We did not drain any coolant. I wanted to but he assured me. time taken start to finish about 2 hours a tad less and of course the the 2 screws in the back was pain...

Turns out the two screws don't need to come out if you know the trick with the harness tabs.
