When driving my '75 FJ40 cold, when ever I use the brakes, it pulls REAL bad to the passenger side. After a few miles and using the brakes more, the problem goes away. I have not pulled the wheel off yet to take a closer look, but was wondering if anyone else had encountered this before and what the source of the problem was.

Could it be the proportioning valve?

Thnx!

ick.

Yes, I have encountered this problem before. No, it is not the proportioning valve.
In my case it was a wheel cylinder hanging up and not retracting all the way.

Wheel cylinder,Id replace both sides, whats your life worth in an emergency stop at high speed in the rain on a curved road at night. Mike

So long as the road is curving to the right it sounds like he'll be just fine...:confused:

It's time to take the wheel off and take a closer look....

 okay I actually laughed from that.

Pull the wheel, probably the wheel cylinders sticking.
