Hi there guys
Just got my car back today have to say that body
Work is good but looks like some1 made a big no no and dont want to admit it .
They removed the engine plus gear box now when driving at around 80 and excelyrate the engine revs up but no moving and burning smell from clutch then it finally grips .
Put in mind it wasn't doing this after the flip ang going in for repairs

Second thing is when push the clutch pedal in a get grinding noise please help as I'm dealing with a bunch of muppets

It helps if you tell us which model landcruiser it is.

Did they separate the gearbox and engine?
Has someone been driving it while it was in the shop?
Its obvious your clutch is not engaging fully,so it has not been reassembled correctly or its needs a new clutch.
Clutch plate maybe in back to front.

Yup it's a 4.0 v 6 manual . The guys saying that they couldn't of fitted the presure plate incorrectly . Maybe some grease has gone on the clutch during installation but I think it would of burnt off by now . Couldn't get the smell to happen again but the sloping prbolim is still there the best way for me to describe it is if u floor ur car on a wet road the but in this case minus the wheels spinning just the engine revs .

Got rid of the second problem found some lose piping and a broken bolt

Will do mate sorry Droped back at the workshop today .
Has anyone got any more info what it could be

Just checking out exedy clutches online and for the one I want they have two. Types to offer from heavy duty steel or carbon ok apart from weight what's the difference . Been wanting to change the clutch since I got the car and if it's true the clutch is damaged this would be the perfect time to do it ? But still all advise on my current problem is much apriciated

Does anyone think that it could be something else apart from the clutch that's causing this problem . Maybe the tuning of the engine needs to be retuned?

Judging by the descriptions you have already given us,I find it highly unlikely.
You either go back to shop that did the work and demand it be fixed,or find someone else.

I also suggested the clutch plate may have been put in backwards, not the pressure plate.
It could also be a seized thrust bearing .

Im sorry ,but there is not much that can be done, except to remove the gearbox and inspect the clutch.
Take photos and show the shop that did the work originally

Just got back from the uae yesterday picked up a new exedy carbon clutch. This should fix the problem as Toyota clutches are useless.

So hopefully drop the box on Saturday when I get the car back and chk out what's wrong and put in the new clutch can't wait looking fwd to this baby .

Plus a big thanks to xxkennxx for hooking me up with Denso winch seriously mate much appreciated.

.

Mine lasted 200000klms and 12 years. The manual advises somewhere that if drivetrain components are wearing quickly that you should "revise driving habits";)

Wow toyota clutches are useless must tell my modified 13B-T that it has a useless clutch giving power to the gearbox . I think some driving lessons on CLUTCH in/CLutchout and feather the right pedal might work better.

Still no pics

Thanks guys like u said urs has lasted 12 years it's an old part made by Toyota all there new gen stuff are crap all I'm saying is from exp and not the only guy .
I'm not sure if your diesel trucks have different clutches . But all I can say is that I'm not the only guy who owns a new Toyota 70 series that complains about the clutch ESP when driving in the desert and and engaged in 4x4 .

Yeah driving lessons why not when should we expect you I mean I'll just rally up all the boys and we shall learn in awwww at ur driving abilities lol

Yeah hopefully start today if I get away from work on time . And will post pics
