I have a 2016 and the maintenance schedule says :

Lubricate propeller shaft and Re-torque propeller shaft bolt

What do they mean by Re-torque propeller shaft bolt?
To they mean break loose and re-torque all the drive shaft bolts? .. if so does anyone know the torque for these?

What grease for Toyota use; .. or is best to use; or what grease to you use?

I went through the dealer records and when it went in for service the dealer has not been lubing the drive shafts like is called for in the maintenance schedule.

I plan on just doing the maintenance myself and keeping records.

I like the green grease as it works good and I used it for 300k mile on my ram 2500 diesel without needing shafts replaced. u-joints went 180k.

If you register on the toyota owner's site you can add your own maintenance records so it's all in one place. These records won't be visible by other people if you sell the vehicle, but they can be good for your use.

As far as I could tell the front shaft on mine hadn't been greased at all when I got it at 105k. The rear definitely was.. but the front seemed totally dry and no grease slung out onto nearby parts. That said.. front shaft hasn't ever given me any trouble after 30k more miles.. only that part was getting regular greasing.

Even if it wasn't documented.. look for grease slung out of the ujoints and slip yoke.

Hi guys I have a 2018 land cruiser. Does anybody know the torque specs for all the drive shaft bolts? I do not believe it was answered in this thread
Thank you

Great! Thank you so much. (Please excuse my ignorance) What about the front drive shaft?
Thank you so much! (for your patience :) )

Any time.

It’s the same hardware all around, so same torque values.

I’ve actually never seen reference to an official Toyota part number. The factory service manual calls for “MP grease”, and the owners manual lists “lithium based chassis grease NLGI No.2”.. no idea if the Toyota type W stuff meets that spec.
