Just ordered a set of the Dobinsons drawers that should be here in about a week or so. I have been thinking about some mods for the drawer and wanted to solicit feedback and ideas from the community. The current ideas are:
Left wing interior: sPod, 2nd battery (SFF solar type) Battery controller; 1000w inverter
Left wing face: 3 gang 12v faceplate with dual QC3.0 USB, USB-C, voltage meter and control switch; 2 gang 110v outlet pigtailed to 1000w inverter; pc fan for cooling.
This would allow me to run all of my exterior lights into the back and provide lots of power options for camping right at the tailgate.
Right wing interior: ARB compressor; Icom 2730 or 5100 radio, battery chargers for impact wrench, Hand Held Radios; NOCO Jumper
Right wing Face: pc fan for cooling
The main reason I want all of the electronic wired into the rear is for greater flexibility in making changes over time and not filling up the engine compartment with equipment that could make repairs more difficult. If my thinking is misguided, please offer up reasons and alternatives. Looking forward to your feedback as I am incredibly excited about the drawers and this seems like a productive way of passing the time while waiting for their arrival.
Thanks,
Matt
